approved used cars by approved used cars

I needed a brand new car, well not necessarily new but new to me. I was worried because I did not have a clue regarding how to buy a used car that I could be sure would be reliable. I wasn't even certain where to start. I didn't want to buy from a private owner. I hoped to get a guarantee of some kind. I made a decision to check out a number of car lots. The very first one gave no warranty at all. The second one had a sign that said they had approved used cars. This immediately caught my attention. I started considering all of the used cars on the lot. I only looked at the cars that had an approved used cars sign on it. I discovered one that I liked and motioned to a salesperson to talk to me. She came over. I told her that I was interested in the car but I desired to know what it meant that they were approved. She told me in order for a car to get the stamp of approval and become part of the approved used cars they had to fulfill certain requirements. In order to get to that requirement the cars needed to go through a few tests. The first thing they do is a background check on the car. They look for any previous accidents that the car had. This could show any underlined damage on the car. Then they check and ensure the car has a clear title no liens, or involved in bankruptcy. Even then it does not become one of the approved used cars. Next they check the mileage and ensure it is right. Then finally the car is checked over and any repairs which are needed are made. After all of that the car is part of the approved used cars. I was already sold then she said and this car will have a ninety day warranty. Those words sealed the deal. I rode out of the car lot with one of those approved used cars.
